Sanders made his debut in 2003, racing for Jimmy Means at Pikes Peak. Sanders started that event in 39th and was admittedly start-and-park. He competed in just four laps before dropping out and finishing 39th. Things went significantly better later in the year when Sanders drove for Moy Racing at Kansas. After starting that event 38th, Sanders completed all but nine laps en route to a 26th place finish. It would be his career best, as he has not raced in the series since. He finished 111th in season points.
Craftsman Truck SeriesEdit
Sanders joined MacDonald Motorsports for two CTS races in 2004. Sanders made his debut at his home track of Kansas, starting 31st but finishing 32nd after crash problems sidelined him. Sanders didn't do better in his latter outing at Gateway. He started last (34th) and once again finished 32nd, this time due to engine failure. He finished 80th in season points.
