Randy Dorton (May 1, 1954 - October 24 2004) was crew chief and engine builder for Hendrick Motorsports until his death in a tragic plane crash near Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia in which he along with 7 other passengers and the 2 pilots were killed.
