The NASCAR Mexico Corona Series is a NASCAR series in Mexico. The series was originally the Desafio Corona Series, the largest stock car racing series in Mexico. NASCAR founded the series in 2004 in conjunction with OCESA, an entertainment company. The partnership between NASCAR and OCESA is now officially known as NASCAR Mexico.
The renamed series is expected to share NASCAR's regional-tiered series, along with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the two Grand National divisions, the Busch East Series and AutoZone West Series. It is widely thought the Canadian Tire and Corona Series may adopt the Grand National rules in 2008 as to allow the competitors to use the same cars in Grand National races.
The series will kick off the 2007 season at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City during the weekend of March 2, along with events from the Busch Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series. The schedule will likely consist of 14 races, as did the 2006 schedule.
