IGA is a name used by many independent grocery stores throughout the world. It has since expanded to the world's largest voluntary supermarket chain, where the IGA banner is licensed in 45 countries and territories to over 4,000 independent supermarkets served by 37 independent distributors.
The group sponsored NASCAR racecars in various times during the 1990s. For the most part, they are best known for sponsoring Jason Keller during the 1999 season, when his team won twice.
In 2013 IGA started sponsoring the Visconti Motorsports Legends team from Long Island NY. The success of that program led to John and Marie Visconti starting a NASCAR Whelen Modified tour team in 2016. That team now has risen to the higher levels of NASCAR with the support of IGA and as of 2018 they compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series with Brandon McReynolds as the driver. The Visconti Motorsports Team have won the Apple Barrel 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with Brandon McReynolds driving.
