Gary Laton is a former NASCAR driver from Albermarle, NC. He competed in two Busch Series events in his career. His career was ruined by a serious crash at Michigan in August 1998.
Laton won at Lowe's Motor Speedway in the ARCA division.
Laton's first event came in 1997, when Laton debuted at Charlotte. Laton wowed the field with his 7th place starting position and then ran a solid race in route to a 23rd place finish.
Laton had a tough outing in his other race, though, coming in 1998 at Rockingham. Starting 32nd in the field, Laton had a crash just four laps in and finished a dismal 43rd (last).
He is the son of Tommy and Jean Laton, and the husband and father of Kristi and Pressley.
