Chisolm Speedway was a NASCAR racetrack. Most races I saw there, in my youth, were Southern Stock Car Association sanctioned events. Jake Hatcher and Sonny Black were the top names. It was a half-mile dirt oval located in Montgomery, AL. It held one Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event in its history. That came in 1956, when Buck Baker, the eventual season champ, lead 60 of the 200 laps and held off Ralph Moody for the victory. Twenty-two cars were in the field.
