  • Andy Hillenburg finished 3rd after being involved in an accident early in the race that caused the hood to come off his racecar. Despite the strong finish, Hillenburg did not make another start that season.
  • The race ended with a spectacular crash by 18-year-old Casey Atwood. His car flipped over several times in the tri-oval on the front straightawy, but he walked away unscathed.
