The 1997 UAW-GM Quality 500 was a Winston Cup Series race that occured at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 5, 1997. Geoffery Bodine set a track record with his pole speed, but he was taken out of the race early. Dale Jarrett and Bobby Labonte dominated much of the race, with Jarrett beating Labonte to the line by four seconds. Jeff Gordon's fifth place finish kept him well ahead in the points battle. Stats
