The 1990 Winston Classic was the 1990 Busch Series season finale, which occured at Martinsville Speedway. Steve Grissom won his fourth race of the year, holding off Tommy Houston. Chuck Bown, who had already won the championship, lost an engine early and would stand two hundred points in front of Jimmy Hensley by season's end.

Kenny Wallace appeared to be on his way to his first career Busch Series victory, but as the race wore on, cautions were few and far between. His fuel gave up with three to go and Grissom passed him to lead the last laps.

  • Mike Wallace began a remarkable career in the series with a solid debut. Starting 24th due to the rainout, Wallace would move to the 6th position by the end of the race.
  • John Linville made his last career top-10, coming home with a 10th place showing.
  • Bobby Hillin's team did not receive any points for their 26th place finish. It is unknown whether they were PE or penalized.
