The 1990 GM Goodwrench 500 was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series race held March 4 at North Carolina Motor Speedway. Kyle Petty won the race for his second career Winston Cup win, and the first win for owner Felix Sabates. Dale Earnhardt finished 10th and held the points lead by eight markers on Rusty Wallace (5th).

Petty won the pole, the first time he had started 1st in his career. Mark Martin, who had won the previous race at the racetrack, joined Petty on the front row. Points leader Dale Earnhardt qualified fourth.
