The 1988 Daytona 500 was a Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) event that occurred at Daytona International Speedway on February 14, 1988. In one of the most memorable finishes in NASCAR history, Bobby Allison held off his son, Davey Allison for the victory. Sadly, it would be the last of his career. This was also the first Winston Cup Race in which restrictor plates were used to slow down the cars. Stats
